Counter Top

Do
  • To be used for meal preparation.
  • To clean with mild soap and water solution.
  • To immediately clean liquid substance on counter top while cooking.

Cleaning and Maintenance Manual
WOOD
Solid wood and real wood veneer are alive. They need time to mature. Do not place them in direct sun light; sun spot might occur. Leave out hot object form the surface as it will tarnish the finishes and turn its yellowish. Long exposure to standing water also causes the wood to expand and swollen.

Cleaning and Care

Maintaining painted furniture :
  • Normal dust : - gently brush off the dust with a soft feather duster or wipe with a soft damp lint free cloth.
  • Grimes and smudges : - use alcohol and ammonia free glass cleaner along with soft damp lint free cloth. Apply and wipe off in the circular motion.
Maintaining high gloss finish painted furniture :
  • Clean normally and apply any soft wood polishing compound for protection and shine.
LAMINATE
It is a man made, artificial surface covering material. A hot object over 150 degrees Celsius should not be placed on the surface; damage can occur. Stranding liquid must be wiped off immediately.

Cleaning and Care

  • Normal dusts : - wipe with dry soft lint free cloth.
  • Do not use any abrasive cleaning tool like metal sponge or wired brush of any kind to clean the surface.
  • The basic characteristic of the laminate material is grime, smudge, food, tea, coffee, soda resistance.
    • For food and drink stain, Clean with soft liquid soap or glass cleaner along with soft damp lint free cloth. Apply and wipe off in circular motion.
    • For a stubborn stain like paint or ink, Spot clean with acetone or thinner base liquid cleaner.
METAL
(Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Chrome plating)
Despite the strength of the material, it is sensitive to fingerprints, oil and grease smudges and requires regular cleaning and polishing to maintain its shine.

Cleaning and Care

  • Normal cleaning : - wipe with a soft damp lint free cloth.
  • For grimes, smudges, fingerprints, oil and grease stain on polished metal : apply talc or talcum over the area, then clean with soft dry lint free cloth.
  • Old, dull, lackluster, flat metal surfaces can be rejuvenated by applying coats of metal polishing compound.
FABRIC
Another touchy material, it is best not to leave it under direct sunlight. The UV rays can cause the fabric to fade and reduce its’ life expectancy.

Cleaning and Care

  • Light smudges or dirt can be easily removed and wiped off with dry soft lint free cloth or with damp sponge with mild soap.
  • For other types of dirt and stains, here are some suggestions : Absorb the stain with clean cloth or sponges, wash the remaining stain with mild soapy water, absorb all remaining liquid, wipe dry.
    • Tea, coffee or soda stains : Absorb the stain with clean cloth or sponges, wash the remaining stain with mild soapy water, absorb all remaining liquid, wipe dry.
    • Crayon or lipstick : Wipe off or wash with dry cleaning liquid, dry off. Repeat the process several time till the stain lessens. Wash further with mild soapy water, Absorb all remaining liquid. Rinse with clean water. Wipe dry.
    • Alcoholic beverages : Beer or hard liquors : Absorb the stain with clean cloth or sponge. Wash the remaining stain with warm or soda water, and absorb all remaining liquid, wipe dry.
    • Chocolate : Wipe clean with dish washing liquid, mild soap, and ammonia then wash off. Or rinse off with clean water, and then dry off.
    • Chewing gum : Harden the chewing gum with ice. Carefully remove the harden gum as much as possible. Spot clean with dry cleaning liquid. Dry off.
LEATHER
Upholstered leather is very sensitive to sunlight. The UV rays will shorten the life expectancy and dry out the leather. Be caution with sharp and pointy object as it can easily cut and puncture the leather. It is best to be placed in an open and airy room.

Cleaning and Care

Genuine Leather
  • Wipe clean with soft damp lint free cloth or with mild soap and water mixture.
  • For heavier stain and smudges, it recommends using specialized leather liquid cleaner. Do not use other chemical cleaner or polishing compound. Liquid or paste that is not specifically for maintain and clean leather goods can cause the leather to fade and harden.
Imitation Leather/ Vinyl/PVC
  • Wipe clean with soft damp lint free cloth or with soapy water.
  • For heavier stain and smudges, use general leather liquid cleaner.
  • Do not use alcohol or paint thinner to clean. It will fade, harden and reduce the life of the material.
STONE
Stone can be categorized into 3 distinct groups.
Natural Stone.
For example : Granite and Marble.
  • Granite is naturally formed with accent of elegance, classiness and sophistication. It is hard and durable; therefore, it is suitable for flooring and counter top.
  • Marble is also naturally form with natural pattern and wave to enhance its’ characters. It is not as hard as Granite but still good and suitable for wall decoration and counter top.
Semi Composite Stone.
For example : “Verona” Stone. It contains 95% natural stone and 5% resin. It is artificially manufactured to look and feel like natural but less pores and less absorption.
Composite Stone or Acrylic solid surface.
For example : “LG and Mystera” which compose of acrylic as the primary material. Its’ advantage of being water resistance protects the surface from mold and mildew. It has higher tolerance to scratch and high temperature. The surface can be installed without seam and can repolish and refinish to keep its’ original look

Cleaning and Care

Natural Stone.
Since the characteristic of granite and marble is porous material, liquid substance can penetrates the surface very easily. It is very important to clean the surface immediately and not let any stain or liquid alone and unattended. Wipe clean with soft damp lint free cloth or with mild soap and water mixture. Dry out the surface with another clean lint free cloth.
Semi Composite Stone.
A regular cleaning should be maintained. Dust and dirt left without attention can reduce the glare of the surface.
  • Use detergent base cleaning compound that suitable for marble along with clean soft damp lint free cloth to clean the surface. For heavier stain and smudges use a non-scratch scrub sponge to spot clean the area in a circular motion. Wipe clean with clean soft damp lint free cloth.
  • For polishing and coating the surface, always use water base solution only. Mix the solution with damp cloth and clear the surface completely. Let it dry. Wipe out with clean soft lint free cloth. Regular use of the solution will increase the beauty and the longevity of the surface.
Composite Stone or Acrylic solid surface.
Since the surface composes mainly of synthetic material, it resists to food and grease stain, coffee, fruit juice, cooking oil, or vinegar. Simple clean the surface with clean soft damp lint free cloth or with a little soapy water.
GLASS
Glass can be snatched and clouded easily. Caution must be taken when placing things like vases or cup, it recommends the use of table cloth or a coaster. Hot object should not be placed without cushion protection.

Cleaning and Care

  • Dust can be easily cleaned with feather duster or lint free cloth. Recommend weekly cleaning to prevent permanent build up of dust layer.
  • Dirt stain like coffee stain can be cleaned with soft damp lint free cloth. For heavier stain use an alcohol and ammonia free glass cleaner along with soft damp lint free cloth applied and wipe off.
